EMC Avamar Data Store is a fully integrated, software/hardware, backup and recovery solution that also includes data deduplication. Avamar features source level deduplication and detects sub-file-level data changes and only changes and backs up that has not already been backed up. This results in a savings of time, processing, bandwidth, and storage requirements. Avamar is a complete solution and is a great option when there isn’t anything currently in place, a complete overhaul is needed for your storage and Disaster Recovery needs, or when source level deduplication is needed to accommodate poor network bandwidth/availability.
